More jacarandas, history... and bats

Tabulam  •
We did a self guided historical tour to get a feel for Grafton itself. It really is a fascinating town with lots of stories - and the biggest is the lasting legacy of one man's passion to beautify the town. Only one year before his death, Henry Volckers planted the first avenue of Jacarandas in Graf...

Jacarandas and sunshine

Tabulam  •
It's Jacaranda Festival time in Grafton! The trees are absolutely beautiful, and we are in a lovely quiet and shady park. The trees are full of birds and insects, the sun is delightfully warm and the intoxicating aroma of eucalyptus hangs in the air!

4 days of bliss

Tamworth  •
We were going to head inland (Bathurst, Tamworth, Tabulam) but weather and an unplanned couple of days in Bowral changed our plans... for the better. We decided to stay coastal and travel through the Port Macquarie region...and wow were we blessed 🙌. 4 nights in Bonny Hills, a caravan park with 2 p...

A welcomed detour to avoid the floods

Bathurst  •
Instead of Bathurst we have stopped in Cessnock on our way to Tamworth... it got wet, that's for sure, but it's been lovely to enjoy a couple days resting and even getting the bikes in use... Bubbles, our first firepit on the trip and visits from BCA friends has made Cessnock even better!

Boids boids boids

Bowral  •
Abi is fascinated by, and we are loving the huge variety of birdlife along the way... I want to buy us a Cockatoo, but Naomi says no...

Memory lane

Albury  •
We had a catchup afternoon with some great friends... so good that I didn't take any photos of them! But I did capture the kids surfing on a turtle and just enjoying life in general:) The next morning I took Caleb and Abi down to Noreiul Park where I used to swim and jump from the tree into the rive...

A bouncing birthday

Albury  •
We got to celebrate our awesome Nephew's 7th birthday with a trip to Bounce Inc and a delicious (I'm told anyway), cake:D

Adventures on the border

Albury  •
Can't believe it's been 20+ years since I spent any time here. There's a bunch that has changed but also a tonne that hasn't. Was a thrill to take everyone on a tour down memory lane through the houses we lived in, the schools we attended and some of the terrible things I used to get up to (sorry mu...

Travel day 1

Doncaster  •
Travel day was WET. And I mean WET. Water over the roads! Flooding closing roads! Unexpected detours adding to our trip and really bad fuel economy... we hope that changes.

Beginning

Sunbury  •
We had 3 nights in Doncaster in a beautiful suburban park. Naomi and I managed to park, set up and pack up the van, unassisted (and with no harsh words either!). Abi loved the jumping pillow and the pool, the puppies and the 'boids'. Caleb got a little sick sadly, but soon recovered. We also visited...
